Share a Little Sunshine
Share A Little Sunshine was Visit Florida's in-state tourism push after the recession hit. The campaign centered around Floridians inviting friends and family down to enjoy themselves, which would create local revenue and local jobs.
I got to do an incredible amount of video work, tour the state (which, aside from the heat, is pretty fun), work with Florida's first sentient android governer (Rick Scott), and shoot a spot with Loverboy McDreamy himself on a NASCAR track.
All in all, this was a really fun account to work on.
PSAs
Much of the account work was PSAs spreading the word about the Share A Little Sunshine effort. Thankfully, we had some relative heavy hitters willing to share the message. The work was fun, featured a TV doctor zipping around Tokyo-Drift style, and showcased Governor Rick Scott's terrifying robotic smile.
This was a spot designed to spread awareness of the campaign.
For every McDreamy, there's a McDearGodTheHorror. The highlight of this (for me) was that the Gov had some pretty boss cowboy boots embossed with the state logo, and his initials in gold leaf. Tacky? Maybe. But it was Florida tacky, which has a unique charm.
Annnnd here's Patrick Dempsey. He was a really nice dude, and I got to hang out in the pit at Daytona. I'm not into racing, but after seeing it firsthand like that... I'm still not really into racing.
This was a PSA to promote some under-attended parks in Florida.
Park Videos
This was a series of videos we did corresponding to the Parks PSA above. These were parks with weak attendance, so we decided to bring to life some of the potential emotions that were alive in the air. We shot these over a few days with a run-and-gun crew, and had a lot of fun doing it. I got to ride in the co-pilot seat in the cockpit. It was terrifying.
Had to channel my inner dad.
The crew was the cast on this shot. I'm in perhaps 1/16th of a frame because of tattoos, but the springs are always a very frigid 64 degrees. Also, manatees rule.
Had to channel my inner son of an avid birdwatcher (that self-identified as a boredwatcher).
Had to channel my inner suburban mom escaping the fray.
Had to channel my inner single mom connecting with her kids.
